ACCESS GUSTAVUS
Flights: Alaska Air flies their jet into Gustavus once a day. They have a wheelchair ramp. Air Excursions and Ward Air can accommodate wheelchair travelers but it is a little more of an adventure than having a ramp accessing and deplaning a float plane. A safe process none-the-less.
Lodging: The Gustavus Inn, Annie Mae Lodge and Glacier Bay Lodge within the park have accessible rooms, offer transportation and have on-site meals. See Gustavus Directory.
Activities: The park has a museum you can access by elevator and a short trail. The roads are safe for walking, biking and wheeling. Going off road is ok if you are aware the ground can become boggy and that bears and moose abound in this wilderness.
The Bartlett Cove (NPS) docks are easily accessible at low tide. We have up to 24' tides and floating docks so the ramps can become steep at high tide. Depending on your level of adventure or assistance, the docks can be accessed at all tides. There are hand rails as well as the lodges can drive you down to the boat in our van. If you take the ferry from Juneau, it uses the Gustavus dock which from their level is accessible.
